Growing up in the Bay Area
July 4th was always a big event
We would often celebrate
The holiday

By eating homemade apple pie
With ice cream

Then have grilled hamburgers
And hot dogs and corn

Then sometimes we would go
To the Alameda County fair
In far off Sam Ramon

To enjoy a traditional
small-town parade
And see the fireworks
From the deck over the bay

When I went to college
In Stockton
I spend a few summers
Enjoying a small town
July 4th party

Complete
with a small-town parade
And we would play
runaway frisbee
On the lawn at the college

And once I went
to a pool party
While at college
And that was fun
As well

These are my memories
0f July 4th Parties
in my now distant past.
