Get In The Car - NOW!

"Mom, Mom, look at that dress! All the kids are wearing them. Can I get it?", Julie asked.

"You already have one, only a different color," Mom responded.

"Yeah but, it's old. I want a new one," Julie pleaded.

"You've only worn it a few times," Mom quipped.

"Yeah but, nobody's wearing that old color anymore!"

"Don't use that tone with me Missy," Mom replied. "You're not going to carry on about clothes when you're just in Kindergarten."

"Yeah but," Julie said, making a face, and stomping her foot.

"That's it, we're going home," Mom stated, taking Julie by the hand.

Outside, Mom led the way through a maze of cars heading for their white RAV4.

Approaching it, Julie spoke up, "No Mom, no..." pulling her Mom's hand.

"No more fussing!"

"Yeah but, Mom..." Julie said, pulling her Mom's hand again.

"Don't argue with me," Mom said sternly. "Get in the car, NOW! And into your car seat."

Julie got into the car seat, but the safety straps needed to be adjusted.

"Geez," Mom exclaimed, getting frustrated, "why do these straps need to be reset."

"Yeah but, Mom," Julie piped up, "if you'd"

"No more," Mom snapped.

Mom's frustration grew when the car wouldn't start.

"Just what I need to finish this day," Mom muttered.

Just then, a Mall Security Car pulled up.

"Good," Mom said. "We can get some help."

But, the security guard wasn't in a helpful mood. "Get out of the car right now," he shouted. "You're not going to steal it today."

"What are you talking about," Mom shouted back. "This is my car."

"Yeah but, it's not Mom," Julie said, adding, "ours is three rows over. That's what I was trying to tell you."

The security guard just rolled his eyes, and shook his head.
