Remake of a scene, where two characters face their differences in life and love.
Written and edited in one go. Was inspired to be written for possible employment. No.2.

PRISON CELL

JIM is cuffed to the wall. Can barely stand. They are
hurt, and bare the markings of heavy beating. It is
difficult for them to stay awake. They hear gunfire,
explosions and the sound of death.

Then the door gets blown off, and a guard falls through.
They cannot escape, as a zergling jumps at them.

JIM
(murmuring)
This is it then.

The beast moves quickly, and is about to devour JIM.
KERRIGAN
(yelling)
Enough! Get out. Leave him.
He's mine.

JIM
Who's there. Can't see.

KERRIGAN
(soft-spoken)
It's-it's me . . . It's me Jim.

JIM
K-Kerrigan?

KERRIGAN
(worryingly)
Y-yes. It's me. What happened
to you? Your face. Are you all
right?

JIM
You're alive, But how? Thought
you were dead.

KERRIGAN
Does it matter?

JIM
Your voice . . . No. Don't tell
me. No-no-no!

KERRIGAN
Jim–

JIM suddenly masters all what is left in them.
JIM
(angrily)
You-You promised me!

KERRIGAN
(anguished)
I know.

JIM
What've you done . . . Oh God.

KERRIGAN
Jim please. You need to–

JIM
You sicken me. After all-I-did
to you.

KERRIGAN
Don't say that.

JIM
I risked everything. Even my
life. I loved you! But guess
that just wasn't enough, eh?

KERRIGAN
I-I know, but–

JIM
And this is how you repay me?
This?

KERRIGAN
Please, let me speak.

JIM tries to lean away.
JIM
You've destroyed everything.
We've nothing to discuss.

Kerrigan burst into tears.
KERRIGAN
I had no choice. I-had-nochoice!

JIM
You clearly had not.

KERRIGAN
I'm still the same! I still
love you.

JIM
(grumpily)
Pff. You only love yourself.

KERRIGAN
Jim . . . please . . .

JIM
You killed mine a long time
ago.

KERRIGAN
No . . . Jim no!

JIM
(angrily)
You're dead to me. Now leave.
Leave!

KERRIGAN steps back a little, and battles their emotions:
they want to leave in shame, but come clean as well.
KERRIGAN
It was all because of you!

JIM laughs, while their lungs whistle.
JIM
(mockingly)
So you thought you'd come here,
as if nothing happened?

KERRIGAN
Just did what I could, Jim!
Hoped you understand that . . .
of all people.

JIM
Don't you dare say my
name . . . You filth!

KERRIGAN
Is that what you think of me?
Nothing else?

JIM
Yes. A mistake. I made.

KERRIGAN gets really-infuriated, cuts JIM loose, grabs a
weapon from the floor, and tosses it to JIM.
KERRIGAN
(heartbroken)
If that's what you want, then
do it.

JIM thinks for a moment, but says nothing.
KERRIGAN
(shouting)
Come on. You said it yourself.
You hate me! Then end it here.
End it now!

JIM
I won't do it.

KERRIGAN
What?

JIM
You don't deserve peace.

KERRIGAN
End it now. Let-me-go!

JIM
No. This is your path. Not
mine.

KERRIGAN drops on their knees.
KERRIGAN
Don't do this to me. I can't
live like this.

JIM
You earned this. Then savor it.

KERRIGAN
Jim. No. Please don't . . .

JIM
Let-go-off-me! You only bring
misery and pain. I trusted you.
I trusted you with my life!

KERRIGAN
Jim . . . I'm begging you.

JIM slowly falters towards the exit.
JIM
Leave me. And never-ever come
back! You hear me? Ever!

KERRIGAN
(crushed)
Please. I've nothing else left.

JIM
We're done here . . .
