I wrote this after the passing of my mother.
My mom
Who was Martha Green?
Mom was a strong and stubborn woman. If she wanted it done, she was going to make it happen despite what anyone told her. And she was going to do it her way.

Who was Martha Green?
She was a hardworking woman who loved to decorate, garden, and shop. She literally never stopped! Even when she was off work she was working on her house, in her garden, or on a classroom project for me. Or we were shopping.

Who was Martha Green?
She was a mother like no other. She showed us so much love, compassion, and determination. She was a mother who would go the extra mile for us and not even blink an eye. She sacrificed so much so often so we could have and do what we needed. She taught so many life lessons and was not afraid to correct us as often as necessary. We laughed, cried, and argued. She ALWAYS put us first. She was our biggest fan and motivator. Every accomplishment we have made thus far has been because she was in the background leading, loving, advising, and supporting us.

Who was Martha Green?
She was a friend, a sister, a daughter, a mother, a coworker, an aunt, and so much more.

Who is Martha Green?
She is and always will be my hero. I thank God every day that He blessed me with 29 (almost 30) years of being raised by Martha Green. If I could be half the woman she was I know I'll be alright. I also know that I will see her again.

Love your daughter Alicia
