With the accusations came the trial. She had no defense certainly the truth brought no hope. She used nature to heal that defied their puritanical philosophy.
In the end, they held her as guilty. She made a final old plea for mercy as she stood beneath the noose. She collapsed to her knees and cried tears of fear and innocence. They accused her of a pact with the devil, at worst she was in tune with nature. They mercilessly yanked her to her feet and slipped her neck into the noose. Without warning the floor dropped from beneath her and it was over.
