The Cosmos calls to us.

We’ve had this date with each other from the beginning.
This is what the Cosmos seems to say as human beings
discover that they are part of this vast universe.  More
than that, the discovery is that the Cosmos resides
within us all; we are stardust, as Carl Sagan said.
Atoms forged by stars long ago and far away,
make us all, and make everything.  So this
calls to us, in a way, this lure of heavens
so vast, this invitation to come back
to our Cosmic home.  This voice
speaks, and thus man listens
and explores, discovers,
longs for God or gods,
or simply that which
exists and calls
with beautiful
intrigue.
