Flash Fiction Contest Entry - 260 Words
"Hey Sophie, you look nice. What's the occasion?"

"Hi Vanessa," said Sophie as she fixed her hair. "I've got a blind date tonight."

"Hmm... You look great in that dress, but isn't it a little too much for a blind date. Also, you have to promise me to stay away from Victor when you're wearing that."

Sophie chuckled. "Oh come on Vanessa, you know I'm no threat."

"Well, maybe not to me, but I know of several guys that would think otherwise." Both of them laughed, then Vanessa said, "So where is he taking you?"

"Ah, I don't remember the name. It's some five star hotel near Central Park."

"Five Star?" said Vanessa. "He must've seen your picture, right?"

"Yep," said Sophie with a wicked grin.

"So who's tonight’s victim? You must have a picture of him too. Let me see."

"Here," said Sophie as she showed Vanessa her smartphone. "His name is Carlo. Tracy from the hospital set us up."

Vanessa frowned while looking at the image. "He's not much too look at, but you always did have peculiar tastes."

Sophie laughed. "You know I've never cared much about appearances. It's what's on the inside that counts."

"Yeah, I guess that's true for you. Let me guess AB negative, right?"

Sophie licked her lips. "Mmm... Of course. Why else would I go out with a guy that looks like that."

Vanessa shook her head as Sophie got up to leave. "Well, have a good time."

Sophie took one last look in the mirror and said, "It'll be to die for."
