In life's surf, you're never alone |
Point Break I’m here, but I’m broken Washed up on the shore The storms of life have spoken To myself, and many more The bodies lie around me Curled foetal in the sand Abandoned by a rough sea Our truths will help us stand As clouded scales fall to steam My soul, it drifts to sleep Treading water where we dream Swimming round skin deep As worlds move on beneath us We’re lured out to rocks A sirens song surrounds us And echoes where it drops It rings through waters, hallow Makes its way to shore Tsunamis rise in shallows Where the deepest cuts are scored Marked and stored in sandbanks Ripples from time’s waves Currents count our files, ranks For those that horde or save Residing in behaviours On isolated plains The damned make the best saviours Their smiles hide a pain Thin masks for an anxious crowd A veneer for the fools Sometimes jesters play too proud Know the game... but not the rules But those able to get the prank Remembering the play Living life off rippled banks Oft gives too much away Afraid to show our ignorance Naivete and doubt Whilst torches burn with brilliance In those who made it out Still shrouded in their mystery Curled foetal in our fear If ever you’re in need of me I’m broken… but I’m here |
