Being Human is Legendary

Recently, while reading newspaper, I came across frequently happening crime – Sexual Assault. Every day, couple of news subject to sexual assault, rape and molestation are narrated on news channels as well as printed on front page of newspapers. It depresses me whenever I go through such news and the thought arises in my mind “Where are we heading to as a Human Being?”

All women feel anger, depression and unsafe when they come across such news. We also feel that something has to be done to stop all these crimes, but we are not succeeded completely as of now.
We as a youth have tremendous power to change the current situation here. We have to go through possible causes, facts in our society and we can take necessary actions to prevent sexual crimes.

Possible reasons/causes behind sexual crimes:
1) A downgraded mindset
2) One Side Love
3) Breakups

People with downgraded mindset often think of harming others. These people are real demons in the society. If one sided love and breakups are not handled properly, it gives birth to a weak mind and as a result a downgraded mindset is developed.

Fact:
Most people in society think that, the sexual crimes against women happen due to women’s attire, which is absolutely incorrect. The Rapists have raped small children from age 2 to 3 years as well as they have raped senior citizens of age around 60-70 years. How can these people think of such a ruthless and immoral act? This indicates there is problem in the mindset of such people. As a normal person, we feel children are innocent and senior citizens are most respectable people in our society.

Also, in our society, a victim of sexual crime is not accepted as a normal citizen of society. Isn’t this unfair as we have already accepted a porn actress as a bollywood actress but we fail to accept victims of sexual crime?

Here, Forced Sex in marriages, emotional as well as physical abuses are occurring frequently. In the present day, studies indicate that between 10 and 14% of married women are raped by their husbands.

Again, where are we headed as Humanity?

Possible ways to Prevent Sexual Crimes:
1) We must educate our children to respect women from the beginning.

2) Every woman must learn self-defense techniques. Few corporate offices conduct training for women employees on maintaining safety in various situations which is a very good initiative.

3) Strict laws must be defined as most of the criminals (considering sexual crimes) often get released on bails.

4) Regarding One Side Love and Breakups; it’s difficult to understand how one can think of harming loved one. It’s a feeling of hatred, where is the Love here? We must accept the situation and respect their decisions so that we can move ahead and we can find our true love.

5) It is possible to stop violence and emotional abuse in marriages. Victims must report such crimes to Police with the help of their trusted one.

6) I don’t think sexual crimes happen due to stress, but if someone considers this as a reason, he has to relieve stress and there are several ways such as divert the mind towards arts, sports and get involved in other stress relieving activities.


Relationships with Women:
Women are most beautiful species on earth. A man needs a woman as mother, sister, wife, friend and girlfriend then why can’t we accept a girl child? If unborn female babies are being killed then male-female ratio will be disturbed and lots of problems will arise since a few men may not have any kind of relationship with women. Think what if this happens with your son? Although this is another topic to be discussed in detail, but my point is we must respect women.

I believe that a person with a strong mind always respects women. Everybody is born with a strong mind but we are not aware of it.

After all, “We are born as Human Being, but Being Human is Legendary.”
