A bowling ball, mice and me.
I thought I heard a bowling ball drop
In the attic today.
The problem is there are no bowling balls
Up there stowed away.

I should know... I live here
All alone in this house.
I am thinking that I have no cat,
And the problem is a mouse.

Perhaps a friendly mouse bowling game
Is going on in the attic.
Maybe a gutter ball went astray
Before the mice could catch it.

Did I hear the patter of little feet
As they ran to catch the wayward ball?
Did I hear a few tiny squeaks
As it banged against the wall?

Will the mouse bowling game continue
All day and on into the night?
Perhaps if I drop a book or yell
Those tiny mice bowlers will take flight.

Do I call the police and report
A bowling ball rolling across the attic of my house?
Do I tell the police that it may have been caused
By a rambunctious bowling mouse?

No, I think I may have to tell a friend or two,
They may think its strange or kind of funny.
And perhaps it's time to get a cat
For my house.... and for my sanity.
