The smoldering smell that could kill a million flies.
You are wrap in exhaustion like a thermal undergarment.
Your body ejects more water than it can retain.
The back of your throat mimics the rough edges of sandpaper.
Your eyes are dim and red from the streams of flowing water.
Your knees buckle more as you scream out in agony.
You cannot get another word out as your vocal cords limit its movement,
Barely making it as your arms gives way from the prayer position.
You had to ask ‘How long have you been in this battle’ wondering if your prayers have been heard.
My God, my God will replenish me for another day,
I’m just waiting until that glorious day and the battle will be over.
But, until then I will continue to fight to keep my flesh under subjection
And keep my spiritual walk right!
