Discovering the light that surrounds us. (Form: Ghazal) |
Illumination I cower in the darkness yet you found me with your light. Its warmth reveals my heart. You astound me with your light. I reach out to embrace you; I'm prevented - you or me? Still, I feel your presence. You surround me with your light. Like a shadow on the wall, I can see but cannot know what chases me from darkness. You hound me with your light. I contemplate what I have known, no revelation comes. I close my eyes but you remain. You confound me with your light. I turn away. I cannot stay. I try to leave your presence. I find I've lost my freedom. You have bound me with your light. Come night, I hunt the moon; in the darkness it is bright, reminding me that you are all around me with your light.
