An editorial on death and or life.
Death is something we all have to deal with in our loves. But, is death or life the true issue we should concern ourselves with? When we lose a loved one; we mourn our lose. In our tradition, we dress in black and attend a gathering in honor of the dearly departed. Usually, this is a time in everyone's life to surround yourself with your friends and family. Yet, still it may feel as tho your heart will never heal. But, as time passes, we tend to go on with our lives. However, we are simply never the same without our loved ones - that are lost (but never forgotten).
So, you may still ask yourself: Why not me? Dear God, why didn't you take me? Wouldn't it be so much easier if we no longer existed? It doesn't seem fair to be left behind with all this pain and guilt. And then, you realize you are the one stuck with the hardest part of all - living. God didn't take you. So, now what? Now, you must proceed with God's plan for you. Since, you nor I know what His plan for us is; we must put our faith in Him even more. I don't like to think of how many times I've lived through something like this. From losing my mother and father; to my close friend. And, trust me, it never gets any easier. But, my faith seems to grow with each lost loved one. After all, I was just being selfish! Concerned only with the amount of pain, guilt, and regret I would be dealing with. Not of how God took my loved one away from all their pain, guilt, and regret. Therefore, death, in it's own way, is just another one of God's gifts to us.
Amen.
