just tell me why

I said hi but you said goodbye.Why did you leave me in this lonely house?You write to me to tell me you are all right.But how do I know you are telling the truth.Then you come home one day you come to stay.You are thinner and a little stern.One day you smile to me and tell you are going back to the army.That day you left I did not say goodbye.One day when a letter came I froze and bursted into tears.The soldier then gave me a letter addressed to me.I opened it up and began to read:
"The day I met you I knew you were the one.I thought we could live in peace.But then I left for the army.When I came I knew things changed.You seemed a little angry with me.I thought you would be happy.When I left again I was shocked when you wouldn't talk to me.Just tell me why you are angry and I will always fix it.Just tell me why."
I finished reading with tears in my eyes.When any one asks me for a question I answer with much pride"Just tell me why."Today I have grandchildren.When they say I love you I say just tell me why.On my death bed they said I was going to go in a better place.So in memory of my soldier I answered with much joy:
"I will go to the one I loved so long ago.Why did he die first?Just tell me why."
