This poem is about a person who cuts them self to feel better but realized it's vices
    SELF-HARM
The thrill of the blade
cutting through my veins;
gone are those days
of self harm and pain.

I thought it made me happier,
thought it made me strong,
but all it did was get me stuck
in a circle of life that was wrong.

I knew I had to get out;
I knew I had to break free;
but I thought I had nothing
else to look forward to without it

I guess I was wrong,
but I didn’t know that then at all;
all I knew was I needed the high
to keep me on track.

And suddenly it became my life
without me knowing that for a fact;
my wrist became my secret
filled with cuts and scarring.

But just as the thrill came, it vanished;
leaving me with just a bleeding wrist;
I wondered if it was worth it,
the pain and all that comes with it.

I became sure of what I knew;
I broke free and came clean;
I now cherish my wrist and me
a thing of the past, self harm will forever be.
