The gravel road was long and hard,
A path so ever less taken.
It may have stretched a couple yards,
But it wasnt one to be forsaken.
Soon enough I was faced with a decision,
A point where my crossroads would meet.
A mountain that would face endless excision,
or an eminence that was known to be bittersweet.
I decided upon the mountain,
as to why you can understand.
The path more extreme would soon be your companion,
for in the end you would be considered a man.
