this is a short story i wrote for a school project about revenge
The rain fell heavily as he took another step toward his victim.
A flash of pure horror crossed the young mans face, realising his fate.
'Why?' The boy Cried, tears running down his face, petrified of the older man standing in front of him. Though the boy knew all to well why this was happening, he had known this day would come.

years ago...

Edward Willis, a very successful compensation lawyer, perhaps one of the best in New York City. Edward would aways fight for his clients until they received every singer dime they were entitles to!
He was just one of those people whose smile could light up a room.
He was generally cheerful, kind to all his co-workers, charitable nature. His family, his beautiful wife, whom he had been married to for almost ten years and their young daughter, who had not long ago turned 6.
He had a nice home, just big enough for the 3 of them. he lived in a nice neighbourhood, a park across the street for his daughter to play in, he was content in his life.
He would often tell his life that 'as long as i have you two in my life, its perfect, absolutely perfect!'
If only he knew of the horrors he would soon face!

It all happened one night when he was working late on a case for a woman who has lost her husband in a terrible accident. The woman wasn't very old, she was in her mid 30s. He husband had to support their family because She was unfit to work and after her husband passed she was left penny-less, supporting 2 children.
Erin Corgrove was her name, she never did get her compensation.
That night Edward left work at almost 11pm, arrived home half an hour later.
'I'm home' he called 'sorry I'm so late' but their was no reply, all the lights were off and no one was awake?
Edward made his way to his bed room, he opened the door but no one was there.
'Honey?' he called but again there was no reply.
He went into his daughters bedroom, it too was empty.
Whats happening? Edward asked himself where are they?
He proceeded into the living room, where he would call his wife mobile phone using their house phone.
He entered the living room and the sight befour him...horrific.
The bodies of his wife and daughter lay lifeless in a pool of their own blood. Edward instantly fell to his knees in a sobbing fit.
It was quite some time befour Edward managed to cam himself and call the police.
Months dragged on over the investigation. Finger prints and foot prints were found at the crime scene, the murder weapon turned up a good year into the investigation, all the evidence pointed to a Stewart Stevenson.
Stewart Stevenson worked at Edward law firm...he knew the boy, he was friends with the boy...how could he...why would he...
The questions ran through Edwards head over and over.
Their was a case, but it was drooped due to apparently lack of evidence.
The boy went free.
That day...

Edward quit his job after that and started planning...planning his revenge.

The rain fell heavily as he took another step towards his victim.
A flash of pure horror crossed the young mans face as he realised his fate.
'Why?' the boy asked, his eyes filled with tears, he was petrified of the man. in front of him, but he had always knew this day would come. He had know that Edward Willis was coming for him.
Poor young Stewart Stevenson...breaking into Edwards house in attempt of robbery made a mistake...he was cough by a child who had heard the noise and gone down to investigate. A mother who heard the cry's of her child ran down into the room.
He heartlessly killed them both.
Edward revealed the dagger from under his coat and spoke o the boy 'You don't deserve pity, you don't deserve consideration for your crimes...you don't deserve your life'.
The boy shook his head 'I'm sorry' he pleaded
Edward spoke one final time befour plunging the knife into the boys throat. He said:
'I forgive you.'

END.
