story about a man reflecting on his life now that things have changed
Life is a dark hallway full of doors. Each door leads down a different path and takes you to a different destination. As one travels down this hallway there is sometimes a flicker from a light bulb using the last of it's energy to help some person to see the signs on the doors to allow them to make the right choice for themselves. If the right door is chosen then things will follow smoothly and the individual will be lead into a hall of light where all the doors are unlocked and clearly labeled. But what happens if you pick the wrong door?

Where will the human's life go if they pick the wrong door and it takes them nowhere. They keep wandering in the dark trying to find a door anydoor to open. These people who are trying to get any door reguardless of the room that awaits to open just to escape the darkness they are presently trapped in. They will leap into any door that is unlocked dispite what may or may not be on the other side. I wanted to be somebody's bulb.

That's how my life use to go too. Always worried I missed my chance or screw up my life permanently, trying any door to get out. Then one day someone cracked their door open leaving a light for me to see by as I walked down the endless dark hallway. As I walked a girl's voice came from the door. It made the light brighter and one day she toss out a key that guided me a locked door right across the hall from the girl's door. I as I entered the new hallway I began to feel more like my old-self again.

Since that time I've gotten the opportunity to be someone's bulb, and have started to put my life back together finally. I leave my door open now too, and talk to the girl across the hall when our bulbs start to dim or just sometimes to say hi. While we have never met face to face I am eternally grateful for her help and hope that the lights we cast in the dark hall will guide others to their own destine doors.
