One of my first poems. Hope you enjoy!
She walks across the floor in her bumble bee tunic
The black cobra whispers in her ear of devilish deeds
And plants seeds of quiet and silent reading by the brilliant nuclear glow
She babbles, confused and shouts which way do I go?
The man in the truck sees her confusion and says get in the truck
Scared, she gets in, sinking the bed
And as they drive, he says I can tell you your entire life story
Every little detail that you’ve already heard
From the moment you were born to the moment you’ll be dead
How long have I been here?
She asks with a glint of fear
Dear, you’ve been here since the mountains were young
And the hills were born in the bleeding steaming birth
That sprang forth from the intensely angry earth
And what will happen when I die
She demands pounding on the glass
Why you’ll killed in a fiery accident
Is his reply
And When will this take place?
She asks with a streak of anger
Right after the next time you look upon my face
And who are you
Why should I believe what you say
Because I picked you up today
I have gone by many names
Some in different tongues, but meaning all the same
He looks at her
With soulless, empty eyes
But you, my dear, may call me the reaper
With that, he lets go of the wheel
