Jumping High

A kangaroo
on a rock
resting underneath a tree
Sunshine
creating heat waves in the air
in the center
of the desert
Sand blowing
from the raging winds
lifted into the air
falling dodwn afterwards
onto the ground
Startled by a rustle in the grass
the kangaroo jumped
high
higher than a lion
higher than a small young palm tree
high
high enough to leap
over an African Elephant
Danger passes by
the sun sets
the air cools
then the kangaroo leaves the tree
goes out to eat the grass
away from the tree
