Introducing Thando, eldest of the elders
Lost amid darkened forest trees
in a thicketry of fern
memories whisper, and
the heat of flames still burn

Thando, father of fathers
is there in morning dew
his bravery still told
amongst the living few

The battles now are won
and Thando’s blood still flows
‘Tis clear now as the river
in rivulets of prose

Shadows open to the now
beloved, Idra in the sun
dewdrops pool around her
the day, it hath begun

Heart beating wildly
she awaits near the tree
horse hooves approach, and
she prays it is he

“It is I, my dear Idra,”
she turns, running to his arms
Como, from Fairingold
has opened to her charms

PART TWO

‘Neath a spreading, leafless oak
Where moonlight doth seek through
Idra in her lover’s arms
Embraces that which she holds true

Faringold’s Prince returns
And takes her hand to wed
Idra’s tears fall in happiness
For he hath meant all that he hath said

Faringold’s forces now are hers
And Thando’s moors are secure
She laid the promise on his grave
As moonlight danced around and o’er

Holding tight the amulet
Her father in death, made hers
Idra alone will hold the secret, and
shall brandish the royal furs

Como of Faringold wed the lovely Idra
In the golden light of morn
Fourteen years passed by them
Before a son was born

Grent, with hair of fiery red
Was the son among his sisters
His manner one of laughter, and
Across the moors, swept whispers

Anya, Crist, and Fairalie
Were the sisters three of Grent
Much wiser than their brother
Who as a jokester his time was spent

Idra worried o’er the moors
Como astride Tor, riding by her side
Would Grent grow to leadership
As the Lands of Klym lost pride?

Idra’s body filled again with child
Prayed for a stronger son
What would e’er become of Grent,
Should the Gods present them one?
