A short poem of what a daydream means to me.
I am a dreamer and I love to dream.

Be it big or small or anything in between

But my parents think its a waste of time

They look at me and say:

There’s no point in trying so stop this nonsense rhyme.

Well I say:

I don’t care if you look at me and frown

I don’t care if you think I’m a clown

I love to dream everywhere I go

Because dreams make me feel like there’s a better tomorrow.

In dreams, I can be a princess

In dreams, I can be the bad ass (or any other ss’ss)

In dreams, that’s where all my imagination runs free

In dreams, I can be anyone I want to be

And lastly,

Dreams give me hope, the kind that’s pure

Dreams give me strength, for the will to endure

Dreams make me believe in the goodness of others

Dreams grant me power to love another

So Mom and Dad, I love you the best

Even if you don’t like my rhyming fest

Because this is who I am, a dreamer all day

Whose head is always up in the clouds and will stay that way.
