There's somethings you can't get away from. Your past. Your present. Your future. The secrets you've kept over the years. The things people have done to you. Somethings nobody wants to get away from. Friends. Family. Boyfriends. In this case, her boyfriend, she needed to get away from. Mariah's boyfriend Trey, was bad for her. Pushing her into walls, grabbing her arms when she tried to say something to him. She couldn't get away. It had been like this for a while. She knew what she would say if and when she got up enough courage to break up with him. But every time she had tried before, he had threatened her or himself. She was too quiet to do anything about either of those things. Her friend's saw the difference in her instantly. It started out little, a few bruises on her arms. Then, people she barely knew saw the things she went through everyday. She wanted out. She wanted so bad to scream and tell him to leave her alone. But she knew, deep down, she couldn't do that. She was too well-mannered to do anything like that. Her friend, Emilee, invited her over one day to hang out and take some pictures for her website. She was doing Mariah's hair and noticed a huge scratch on her back. There was no way Mariah could have done it, where it was located. And why would she have done it? No, this was Trey's doing. She ran her finger along the scratch very gently. Mariah had fallen asleep while putting the black extensions in her blond hair, so she did it lightly to not wake her up. She took a picture of it and sent it to her and Mariah's best friend, Cheyenne, to see what she had to say about it. She called Trey right away. She couldn't see a girl that was like her sister, getting hurt by this guy. He got mad and started cussing.
