A man adopts two kids and they move into a haunted house that is home to an evil being.
"Daddy are we almost there?" Pipped a young girl in the back seat of the car. "Ten more minutes Katie. Then you will be able to rest." Katie looked out of the window. For a young child of five years old, she went through a very tramatic event. Katie and her older brother of eight years, Anthony, were at their grandparents house staying the night because their mother was in the hospital having a baby. Around four in the afternoon the next day, the hospital called that they had some bad news. During child birth, there was some complications and both the mother and the baby died.
It was Anthony who answered the phone and he started yelling at the nurse,"You're a liar! My mom and baby brother are not dead!" He slammed the phone down and ran into the bedroom. Katie looked up at her grandmother, large tears in her eyes.Since the grandparents lived in a retirement home, they couldn't keep the children there so they had to set them up for adoption. It was so hard for the children, but it wasn't so long before they were both adopted. A young man, who knew the mother of the children, decided to bring them home. He just finished college and found a place of his own and wanted to have children and thought he would do them and their mother a favor.
When they pulled into the driveway, they saw a nice medium sized brick ranch style house. "There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and it's pretty big inside. The couple who just lived here before us fled from the house. The owner said that he never wanted to go near this house again." Katie looked up at the house and shivered. She got a very bad feeling about the house. She felt a very strong breeze that made her wonder if winter weather came early."Well, shall we go in? There is no furniture, we have to wait for the movers tomorrow. I did bring some sleeping bags we can use for tonight." He unlocked the door and walked inside. The walls were white and all the floors in the rooms were wood. There were things here and there but nothing that looked important.
Katie stood in the front doorway, unable to move. She understood why the other family left. There was a very strong feeling that someone was watching her."Katie, come on. We are setting up the sleeping bags and then going to sleep. The movers will be here very early." Katie followed her dad and crawled into her sleeping bag. Even with her brother and her dad there, Katie had a very hard time falling asleep. However, the next morning, Katie woke up and the room was empty. She started screaming and her brother and dad ran into the room. "Katie, what's the matter hon?" "I thought you left me or something happened to you. I was all alone. It scared me." "Well, I think I know something that will cheer you up. Come on and I will show you your new room." Katie got up and ran to her bedroom. There was a pink bed and a white dresser and desk with a computer on it. She was supprised that words couldn't come to her.
She turned and looked at her dad.He nodded and said,"I will leave you to get used to your room." He turned and left. Katie sat on the bed. She layed down and was enjoying her new room, suddenly the same harsh, cold wind came up. Katie sat on her bed and heard a noise of something dropping. She looked down and saw a golden necklace. She picked it up and what happened Katie will never forget. She saw her mother standing in front of her. Katie started running out of the room, when the door slammed in her face. She tried to turn the knob, but nothing happened. Then a piece of paper was floating in front of her. She opened it and it was her mothers' writing.

Katie, You have to help protect this house! It is being posessed by a demon!
You have to get a priest out here to bless the house! This demon is holding
all in here forever! He will not let you go. Who ever comes into the house is
here forever against your will! I don't want to be here anymore. Please do
what I say, so that you can be safe, so that you can get out of this Hell House.

Katie didn't know what to do. She sat on her bed holding the piece of paper, and staring at it. She had an idea that if her mom could write to her, she could write back. Katie rushed to her desk and grabbed a pen and started to write, 'Do you know why the demon is here? Will he harm us if we don't leave?' The words no and yes appeared on the paper. 'Should I tell dad? To warn him and Anthony?' Again the word yes appeared on the paper, and she ran to her dad. "DAD! DAD!" Katie yelled around the house.
He came running from the kitchen, with a knife with a mixture of peanut butter and jelly. "What is it? He had a scared look on his face because Katie had tears in her eyes. "Mom...it was mom...I talked to her!" "What?!" Katie told him about the necklace and how she held it and saw words appear on a paper. "Mom wants us to get someone to bless the house." Right after she finished saying that, there was a very loud crash outside. Anthony ran up to them with a scared look on his face.
They stood in the middle of the living room, huddled togeather. They looked out of the huge bay window. The sky went from a plesant baby blue to a menicing black. Then they heard a deep, growling type voice come from inside the house,"Get out of my house! This isn't your damn house, so GET OUT!" The couch levitated from the floor and flew into the opposite wall. Katie, Anthony and their dad ran out of the house and flew into the car.
Katie was scared and didn't know that even her dad knew where he was driving to. She didn't even bother to ask. Even though it was one in the afternoon, she was feeling very tired. It was as if all of the energy was drained out of her, and she fell into a peaceful sleep. Someone was shaking her out of her sleep. "Katie, hon, are you alright?" The person who was talking was her father. "Yeah, I'm alright. Why are you asking me?" He looked at her with a strange look on his face. "You kept on saying I'm going to kill them all in a very harsh and cold voice. We are taking you to a church. We think you might be posessed." Anthony just looked at her, with tears in his eyes. Katie turned away, also crying.
They walked up to the church, hand in hand, scared what would happen. The minister was in his office as usual. "Well Mark, this is such a wonderful suprise. The children came as well. I hope they are doing fine since the insident? Well, please sit down, what can i do for you?" We sat down and Mark stated his whole story. When he finished, the minister looked very grave. "Well", the minister said after a few moments,"I don't know what to say. I could try to bless the house. However, I need to bring some other friends with me. They can tell me what type of spirit is in your house. We could do it, possibly, tomorrow. Will that be alright with you?" "Yes that will be fine. Do you think that we should go back to the house or should we sleep somewhere else tonight?" The minister was thinking long and hard about this. "Katie, do you still have the necklace?" She nodded. "Then I strongly suggest that you sleep elsewhere tonight. I shall meet you at the house at one tomorrow. Good luck, my prayers are with you." They left and checked in at a near by hotel.
After a while the three of them were getting hungary and went to have a burger at a near by resturant. They were not eating very much and went back to the hotel room. When they entered the room, Katie spotted a note on the bed-side table and raced toward it, but the dad got their first. He picked it up and read it, then looked at the kids with another look of mixed feelings;hatred, sadness, anger, and tears were filling his eyes.
