Poetry for Karis's Romantic Contest

He worked so hard he didn't have time,
She was so tired watching kids all the time.
They had a piece of the American Dream,
Their marriage was coming apart at its seam.
He was feeling unworthy, tired and unprepared,
She was feeling exhausted, neglected and scared.
He had remembered her, so he brought her flowers,
She called a sitter; they left and talked for many hours.
He loved no one else and wanted her to know,
She said she was sorry for what she did not show.
They went home that night and both had good dreams,
There will be no divorce for this family it seems.
Their closeness renewed both ready to give it another shot,
Once again they were thankful for all that they've got.
