Teenage sisters, Jen and Sonya, were in the back yard of their grandparents’ home working on cheerleading routines. The sisters were staying with their grandmother for the weekend since their grandfather was away on a fishing trip.

Their grandmother sat on the bench swing on her patio watching them practice, remembering when she was a cheerleader. Finally she got up and went to where her granddaughters were. Then with perfect ease, did a cheer from high school.

“Wow Grandma! I didn’t know you could still do that!” Jen said.

“Let me tell you babies something… and don’t you forget it.”

“Ok Grandma.” They said in unison.

“If you carry your childhood with you, you never become older. Tom Stoppard said that, I believe.”

“Well it must be true Grandma, because you cheer like you’re still 16!” Sonya said a wink.
