a poem written during a rain storm |
The Rain is Falling Softly The rain is falling softly It’s the only sound I hear The rain is falling softly So calm and so sincere The rain is falling softly And welcomes the gentle breeze The rain is falling softly As winds whispers through the trees The rain is falling softly With a gentle moan The rain is falling softly On this place I call my home The rain is falling stronger now As lightning brightens the sky The rain is falling stronger still And the thunder lets out a cry The rain is falling strongly Almost like a waterfall The rain is falling stronger still And the wind answers her call The rain is falling softer But the wind blows stronger still The rain is falling softer And clings to the window sill The rain is falling lighter now And the storm is easing up The rain is falling lighter still But the thunder still rolls on The rain is falling softly But the wind has lost her edge The rain is falling softly As it drips from windows ledge The rain is falling softer now Scarcely none at all The rain falls even softer still As the storm rages on The rain is falling softly It barely makes a sound The rain is falling softly As it dribbles to the ground The rain is falling softly As the storm fades away The rain stops completely As night turns into day |
