A man walks along a Golden Road making his way home.

The Golden Road

I can feel the heat all around me, it's getting harder to go on now but I know this golden road is all I have left, I know this Golden Road is probably the final journey and quest these legs of mine will ever take. I had no idea such a place on earth was even possible to exist, I'm walking on what feels like water but at the same time it's solid and beautiful, like gold being melted and turned into a solid surrounded by a sea of sand.

This road is all I have left though now, this empty magical road is mine alone to walk and feel it's mystery and beauty all around me.

I spent to long in that cold empty apartment, I spent to long locked away and neglected with only the memory of you to keep me company, no only the memory of you too remind me of what I once had and who I use to be.

At first it was not so bad to be left alone in my small little fantasy world, I could write and draw, sing and dance but soon the novelty started to fade and people started to look and then quickly turn away.

That was when I finally decided enough was enough, I got dressed and took one last look at the bed we use to share, I looked into the mirror and did not find the reflection there, all I saw was the room and this confirmed to me I was now simply not even there.

So making my way through the busy streets, running away from all the pain and anger people bring, walking away from all the false promises of love and friendship I found myself here, walking under a beautiful sun on a road made of liquid gold.

I don't know if this road is real or in my mind, I don't know if this road will take me to someplace nice, all I know is that this road is beautiful and yet harsh, a bit like life.

I start to understand it now as I reach the shining end, just because I still had a body it did not mean I still had a soul, When you died apart of me did to, and finally the road appeared to take me back home to you.
