Entry for 500 Word Dialogue Challenge.
“Hey mister! Wait. You dropped this.”

“Go away kid. Stop following me.”

“But isn't this bag yours?”

“No. Now leave me alone.”

“But I saw you drop it under the bench.”

“Brat for the last time, stop following me!”

“I can't. My mom told me to always return a lost item. It's the right thing to do.”

“Fine. You win. Thank you, but I don't want this bag back. Please put it back under the bench. Alright?

“Are you sure mister?”

“Yes, I am sure. Please stop asking. Now hurry. The bag must be under the bench by 5:55 PM and it's already 5:45.”

“Um, mister.”

“What kid?”

“I think your watch broke.”

“Why do you say that?”

“The bank sign says 5:54.”

“No way... Oi kid. Give me the bag.”

“But you just told me to put it back under the bench.”

“Just give me the bag!”

“You don't have to yell.”

“Gah. Stupid brat. You have any idea what you have don...”

“Special Agent Richards. Do you have an update?”

“Yes, commander. At 5:55 PM today an explosion ripped through the downtown area. So far we have confirmed two casualties – a young boy and an older man. Eyewitness testimony puts the boy as trying to return something to the man.”

“Have we identified the man?

“Not conclusively sir. The MO matches that of bomb maker Sheng Yu but we won't have confirmation until DNA comes back.”

“Alright. How about the boy?”

“An ID is still pending.”

“Notify me as soon as you have it. The boy is a hero and I will personally notify his parents.

“Sir. Who was on the 5:55 bus?”

“Sorry Richards. That information is still classified.”

“Understood sir.”
