Poetry : Rhyming poetry of an experience of the night!!!
What began as a lonely night,

Even the stars were looking glum,

Staring into the vast hallways,

My mind was growing dull

But t’was not my fate to be burned

In the grimness that was set,

Rising from the ashes

Like a phoenix someone said

“Let’s not stay here anymore,

The night is fairly young”

And soon all were ready,

The wildness had begun,

Before long the engines roared,

With men stuffed all inside,

With hurry did we scamper,

Away into the night

There were songs and there was glee,

No loneliness in sight,

The silent night woke up aghast,

“The men are out tonight”

An hour had maybe gone by,

The endless road did end,

We reached what seemed like a bolted place,

At the beginning of a bend.

“Toto’s Garage” screamed the neon,

Announcing its might,

Frantic yet perky,

We thought fun was in sight.

We stepped inside the tavern,

One person at a time,

But then our fortunes went against us,

“Too young to be inside”

Cursing the bald bouncer,

Wishing we could fight back,

We left the stupid tavern,

All but our pride intact.

There was no need to worry,

It wasn’t the end of the world,

“There must be some other place”,

Some mumbling voices moaned.

Packed up in the carriage,

The men soon zoomed along,

The night laughed as if to say,

“Out here you don’t belong”

Not even had we begun,

We saw a heavenly hell,

Its loom was undeniable,

The crowd: “A sexy belle”.

Out popped we all again,

One fool at a time,

Staring at the open gates,

We said,

“The night is mine”

Entering the red tavern,

We scanned the room we were in,

The place was filled with lassies,

All with blokes but still…

We had all had enough,

Our bellies craved a drink,

T’was nearly 12 in the night

There was no time to think

As our asses hit the couch,

Last call was closing in,

“Two Pitchers please” we blurted,

The man kept standing still

“That would be all” we said to the good man,

Who scavenged for his quill,

He turned and hurried to the kitchen where,

The beer was pouring in.

This was a random act we thought,

Not something that we planned,

But all were surely having fun,

All but one man….

The Driver sat there gloomy,

His cup he could not fill,

For there were men on the highway,

Who could test his breath at will.

Soon the clock struck one,

And the drinks were stuffed within,

Lurching to our feet we called,

“Cheque please” (last thing)

The designated driver,

Could not contain a smile.,

For As the cheque opened,

It shut down our lives….

Down to our last penny,

We saw our money fly,

Walking out we couldn’t help but think,

“Why Satan Why??”

Starting off as always,

The feeling now was empty,

Until an angelic soul said,

Don’t worry I got plenty.

The mirthfulness returned,

And so did our chirp,

“So now where are we headed”,

I said letting out a burp…

In the spur of the moment,

We reached our final fate,

The night was treating us well we saw,

We knew it was open till late.

A comfy castle it was we saw,

Marine Plaza our inn,

We were welcomed with a pleasant smile,

Our bladders ushered us in…

In what seemed like heaven,

We all went to pee

Soon the tension released,

The mind felt so free…

Cold coffee for all on the table,

Save one again as before,

We savoured every moment,

Cause it would soon be time to go...

And then the moment came,

The boredom had begun,

“We need to make a move now”,

In unison we went hmmm.

So for what seemed the last time,

We all stuffed in again,

Set out to meet our destiny,

Where the adventure was to end.

T’was again not the case,

As the night had a final twist,

Something open in the night,

A ragged and rickety place.

Taking the bend we shouldn’t,

We reached an open house,

We ate a plate full of poha,

And threw the last pack out...

This time for sure the end was here,

All were wearied out,

We parked the night rider in her cave,

Satisfied we came out…

Now I talk for me a while,

My fortunes sure looked bleak,

With trembling hands I opened the door,

“Thank god they’re still asleep”

The random night’s adventure,

Still flashing in my head,

Something had been accomplished

The tired bloke went to bed…
