just a thought to remind us that no matter who we are we are where we are for a reason
The street was dirty, trash lined the curb, Andy stood there sign in hand, begging for money, you could see pain in his eyes, skin aged fast from drugs, no one ever stopped to ask his story, he had been beaten when he was young, put in foster homes and sexually abused, never knew his mother she died from drugs when he was just young, to hide the pain he coved it with a needle in his arm, sinking lower he'd forget who he was.
Worn out people in worn out places worn out faces lost
Never judge a book by the cover
Life is hard and we all have a story to tell
Sara sold her body to pay the rent, she lived in the ghetto, barely kept the water on. She dropped out of school at 15 ran away from home, ran away with a man named Jim, who promised her the world, he was 41. He beat her down and broke her pride, sold her body for enough to get an eight, now she works for him to scared to run, he's in her head. Now she wishes she was dead. You can see the pain in her eyes stained by the tears she cries, alone through the night, wishing she could go home, to the one's that love.
Worn out people in worn out places worn out faces lost
Never judge a book by the cover
Life is hard and we all have a story to tell
Linda became a mother at 18 now she's 36, her cheeks stained been crying since 3, when
she got the news her son was shot
got caught up in a deal that went bad
bullets shot two lay dead
He left behind a 2 month old, Linda now holds in her arms
Worn out people in worn out places worn out faces lost
Never judge a book by the cover
Life is hard and we all have a story to tell
One day it'll end and pain will be no more.
