A wolf hunt in a poem. Did it for a school project.
Shadows in darkness, we are,
demons of the night,
Fast of paws and limbs, we are,
inflicters of fear and fright.

We were tracking in the dark
to get our prey by dawn,
a journey we had embarked
before the tracks were gone.

When the moon was high
and the sky cleared,
our heads raised high,
for our target neared.

A huge bull moose, he was,
young; antlers huge and sharp;
a challenge for us,
but we were ready.

With Alpha in charge,
we moved swiftly through the shadows,
becoming one with them,
ready to hunt.

Flitting across the snow,
our paws barely left tracks,
we are working together,
because together we can.

Our pack split up,
as our strategy called,
we made a half-moon,
the cliff, the fourth wall.

The moose heard us coming,
and trying to flee,
found himself cornered
and ceased to be free.

By dawn, we had victory,
our howls echoed in the silence
for our prey was down
and our spirits soared like eagles.

We will eat for days
and rest with a flourish,
for we have survived
and our pups are nourished.

Soon warmth will come,
the green will return,
the sun will find us teaching
the strategy to learn.

So, wasn't I right?
Together we can;
though divided we fall,
United we stand.
