The young Elizabeth can't quite hold back her thirst when she should.
I smirked, looking down at my new chosen prey. Handsome, with short blond hair and dark blue eyes, strong facial features and slight muscle tone. I sat on the edge of his bed, leaning close to him to watch him sleep awhile. But soon the parched, searing feeling in my throat became too much. Leaning over him, I slowly moved down until my lips were just barely touching his throat. Feeling the steady pulse there, I let my lips curl away from my teeth, almost in a snarl. I opened my mouth and bit down on his warm neck, my sharp fangs piercing the skin easily. His body jerked a little in pain, and his eyes opened wide. Blood flowed from his neck, dripping from my mouth and chin even as I sucked. He let out a choked yelp, trying to push my away. After a minute or so, however, his attempts became weaker and weaker. Until finally, his body went limp. Pulling away, I wiped the blood from my mouth and chin and looked down at him. I smiled, reaching my hand out to caress his cheek. Then, I was gone.
"Elizabeth! I told you not to go out last night, the humans are dangerous! If they found out any of us were even a few miles away from the city we would all be killed. There are too many humans compared to our number. That's why we have to be careful." Nicolas scolded me constantly. I sighed. "I am being careful, Nicolas. Otherwise I would be dead already, and you wouldn't have to scold me every other day." He sighed and put his hands on my shoulders, pulling me close. He stroked my waist length brown hair gently. "I worry about you, that's all. I don't want to lose you to human vermin." I moved to pull away but he held me tighter. "Please be more careful and listen to the council, who knows what they'd do if they found out about you sneaking out." I pouted, looking up at him. "But I was thirsty, and it hurt." He smiled. "I know, that's when you come to me to drink, not to humans, alright?" It sounded like he was talking to a child now, not a seventeen year old vampire. "Alright, alright." I sighed, pulling away and smiling at him. "Have fun with the council tonight." I winked and walked out of the room before he could say another word.
