My re-write of my first section of the series. Work-in-progress.
"come ON Nat! We are going to be late!"
"Ta-lay-ya, no worries Drake." As usual, I was running behind. What can i say? I'm a girl. It takes time to look the way we do, I mean, really. I am going to become a full druid soon, I can't be running around like a little imp anymore. Well, that's a bad comparison, imps always look fabulous, I guess it's just this hair.
"We're meeting with Sciss. You know he's always late."
"What if he's actually on time," Drake interupted, "You know he's not the most patient when we're late. Just hurry, ok?"
"Since when are you the little worry-wort, Drake? We are perfectly fine. Look, I'm finished. That didn't take long, did it?"
"I'm not the one to be getting fresh with, Nat-a-lie."
Ugh! I hate it when he uses my full name. Makes it feel all proper.
"And I'm not the one to be meddled with, Dra-cu-sau-ka."
I swear all of the little blond hairs on his head stood straight up. He tried to draw up to his full height, which isn't saying much considering I'm three inches taller than him, but he does have a deadly glare. Man, those blue eyes are a sea. I swear he charmed them to do that. If there's one thing Drake is good at, it's disguises. he taught me better than anyone else I know. Even our old teacher, Ms. Harrissssssburg. (Sorry, couldn't resist. She has a horrible lisp. She is a good teacher though.) Anyways, he's not a bad looking person. Not that I have a crush or anything like that, we're best friends, you know?
"Well," I continued, "maybe we can stop by the kitchen real quick? I'm still hungary."
"I swear, you are the only person in the world who can eat more than me!"
"Oh, hush. I'm not that bad."
"come'on. You can git a toast after class. We're gonna be late."
"You most certainly are." Oh, boy. Even on the last day of classes I can't avoid that voice. it's so smooth sounding, but not in a good way. Sciss could out do Snape any day... I reluctantly turned around.
"Morning professeur Sciss."
"I will not allow you to call me that, even on your last day."
"Sorry, professeur," You did not mess with Sciss. I mean, what 12 year old wants to take on a 6 foot 5 man with two eyes that are different colors. Oof. Gives me shivers, even now.
