When things were tough. Much better now.
One day soon, I will be gone,
And I know that you will miss me.
I wish you wouldn't of done me wrong,
But you were never listening.
I tried so hard to tell you,
But you never understood.
I tried so hard to show you,
But I knew I never could.
It's like you didn't care,
And nothing had a meaning.
And when you stopped being there,
Is when I stopped believing.
I know I wasn't good enough,
But really, I did try.
I made it seem that I was tough,
But every night I'd cry.
But you would never know,
Because you were never there.
I told you that I loved you,
And it seemed you didn't care.
All I did was sleep,
Because you were in my dreams.
And that's what made me happy,
At least that's how it seemed.
You'd always disappear,
And I never knew why.
And once again, I'd fall asleep,
After I would cry.
All I ever wanted,
Was to wake up and find you there.
I wanted you to hold me,
And run your fingers through my hair.
You were on my mind,
Every moment that went by,
More than you'll ever know.
You were the love of my life,
And that's all I tried to show.
I spent every night crying,
On my knees for you.
Praying to a make-believe god,
To help me make it through.
I prayed on all the stars,
The ones that filled the sky.
I kneeled there for so long,
Praying as I cried.
But you would never know,
Because you were never there.
You could never see me,
You never seen how much I cared.
I wanted to sleep forever,
To dream is all I wanted to do.
Because with my eyes closed,
I was finally there with you.
Every bit of my love,
I was saving it all for you.
But you just couldn't see it,
And it really didn't matter,
How I tried to show you.
So I finally stopped trying,
And I finally gave up on you.
But still continued crying,
And continued dreaming too.
You were all that I had wanted,
Nothing else ever had a reason.
You were what I looked forward to,
The one I looked forward to seeing.
But you would never know,
Because you were never there.
You just couldn't see it,
When I told you that I cared.
So maybe this will get through to you,
The way that I just never could.
Maybe now you'll finally realize,
The way I had always wished you would.
