"Bloody Chicken & Closed Eyes"

    *On Feb. 28, 2010 many club goers and partiers were hanging out at the local "Chicken Hut" located on the North side of Tulsa. This building has been converted from a run down gas station into a popular fast food hang out spot and is frequented most often after the clubs close at 2 a.m. Unfortunately it also seems to be a primary location for fights, gang activity, and other crimes.
    This particular night a fight had broken out and a shot was fired, injuring 27-year-old, Valentino Verner critically. As he lay bleeding on the ground, not a single person called 911 except for the victims sister. When the police arrived, they were surprised to be taunted, yelled at, and seriously harassed as they tried to make their way to the injured man. Apparently the crowd felt that the police were invading their space for reasons that were unnecessary and made no effort to help them in any way by moving away from the victim or helping stop the bleeding. Although the police blocked off the area around the man with caution tape, customers pushed their way through the crime tape and stepped through pools of blood to get their styrofoam boxes of fried chicken, all while seeming oblivious to the man who was laying on the ground, dying slowly beneath them.
    When EMSA finally arrived, the crowd showed the crew the same type of harassment and it was no easy task getting the injured man out of the crowd. He was taken to the nearest hospital 7 minutes away but unfortunately died on the way there. Although there were approximately 100+ people on the scene when the crime took place, apparently NO ONE SAW ANYTHING.

--Wow. What a surprise huh? In the past few years the "street law's"  "Stop Snitching" rule has taken over not only big cities but right here in Tulsa as well. People are so afraid of what might happen to them that they refuse to stand up for what is right and get justice for those who deserve it! It is disgusting and down right heartless to watch a man walk free and most likely continue to kill, rob, and even rape while those who know he is guilty just sit back and watch. What if the man killed was your brother? Your husband? Your son. Would that make a difference?

A few articles about this story have since been published in the Tulsa World but they do the actual story no justice...what is our City coming to? This should have been NATIONAL NEWS, regardless of how bad it would have made Tulsa look!

That is animalistic!! Where are these peoples conscience?

Not only is it against the law to watch a crime take place and do NOTHING, but the Bible itself tells us the story of The Good Samaritan
and what to do when we see something...DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!
100 people there and NO one saw ANYTHING??
Are there any "Good Samaritans" in our Town at all?
This man wasn't even affiliated with a gang and it has since been found he was probably shot due to a MISTAKEN identity!!


**LISTEN!! This is NOT L.A., New York, or Philly! Hell this isn't even Houston, this is TULSA, OKLAHOMA!

People are so scared to tell what they saw because of gang retaliation! Call anonymously!
Unless you go out and tell someone that you called or are planning on calling the tip line then please tell me HOW will anyone know??
And the fact that people think revenge can bring them justice is just preposterous! If you go kill the guy who murdered your brother or whoever, who is to say that their brother won't come back and kill you?? And so on and so forth.

What I want to know is: When will it ever end, and when will it ever be ENOUGH?
