As you make your way
A hard road I've travelled
spread over the years
stained by old memory
blanched by old tears

Proud of the journey
I surely am not
Ashamed of it neither
even if in hell I will rot

Each bend in this road
marked by a scar
most are healed nicely
even those from afar

I've known men of all colours
the women too
they have all made my stories
that I may someday tell to you

But now I am aged
and dont go so far
but I have no need to
no more a wandering star

travelled the world
more times than you would believe
seen such sights of wonder
as I take my leave

so breathe strong and deeply
when you quiver your lip
never regret your own action
just make sure your reaction is quick

stand by your mettle
believe your own eye
and live each day given
as one day you'll die
