Forgive me, my love, for making you wait

Sorry for making you wait so long, my love. But there were so many things to do, so many experiences to live. I have done as you told me: I have lived on. But I have never forgotten you. Nor have our children.

All this time I have improved as a human being. I have savored the pleasure of being here. Although there have been times where I have experienced pain like when you left me. But I have never, ever, hated you for it. It was your time and I know it.

I am late because I have never given up, not for one instant. I have persevered, for the sake of our children, for their future, for the love we professed them, to keep you in their memory. I have taught the to love this world and to love this life. For a human without love is just and empty shell, a masked void.

All these years I have seen our children grow, and I have been amazed at how they look like you. It seems fate has wanted to leave your imprint in this world through them.

I could give you a thousand excuses, but all of them would be lies. Forgive me for making you wait but I have been experiencing life. That which has been denied to you.

But now, my time has come and I join you now.
