Not exactly prose but something I wanted to share. I wrote this years ago for a friend.
Twenty-Six Keys to a Good Marriage
(using the A-B-Cs)

ADJUST your life. You both are in something new.
BALANCE your job and family time.
COMMUNICATE with each other every day.
DIET with healthy foods to be at your best.
EXPLAIN your goals to each other.
FORGET the petty items in your thoughts. Also be FAITHFUL.
GOD is always the true inspiration and guide for your new lives and union.
HELP each other daily.
Be INDEPENDENT to some extent.
JOKES can sometimes relieve tension.
KINDNESS to your family and the in-laws is a valued quality.
LOVE is golden. Love truly makes the world go round.
OPENNESS of heart and mind means that feelings do not get hurt.
PATIENCE is important in making new lives work.
QUIET time together and also apart will let the mind sort things out.
RANDOM ACTS of LOVE enrich the heart.
SING praise about your spouse.
THINK about your vows.
UNDERSTANDING is needed when things look gray.
Surprise VALENTINES make the heart fill with joy.
WAKE UP in the same bed.
XXX is for kiss, kiss, kiss.
YESTERDAY'S argument is just that. Let it go with the past.
ZIP on home, not to a bar when work is finished.

There can be many different words that can fill in the A-B-Cs but I wrote this a long time ago. I hope that you enjoy it.
