This poem was inspired by many things going on in my life
As I wake the days, I learned how my mind has strayed,
At one point I thought myself a Sage, reading and writing page after page,
Learning from others as well as my own mistakes,
It would seem through all my years of craze, I lost myself like a mouse in a maze,
Thoughts clouded and so my vision is hazed, one would say,
"you were young" and call it a phase, I respectfully disagree,
Knowing I have return for the decisions I have made, in spite I have prayed,
Yet my wisdom is swayed, belief in God, I'm afraid the wrong game was played,

The mind is deep and life is steep, the sound it makes, like drum off beat,
My failures a stick to meat, in life I must be quick to feet, quiet my thoughts,
And not be so quick to speak, still emotion stands, so I hear the beast, I seek to learn,
He seeks to teach, emotion is poison, leaves him blind to see,
What is, is, always was, and will always be, except that fact, as plain to preach,
It is the truth of all truths that will set one free,

People say I haven't tried, then I fear your truths are in lies,
We either do or we don't, the rest is all denial,
Its an excuse for when we choose not to and apply it,
It’s a reason for people to point a finger,
And speak when you should remain quiet,
As I have said many times, I am simply tired,
I refuse to accept circumstance as retribution and retire,
When I control and I alone am the solution nothing higher,

I am who I am, and apologize to none,
The love I've ever had, lies within my daughter and my son,
I seek no forgiveness for the things I have done,
Only resolve so the absolute best would be allowed to come,
To take it all back, is to deny what I have and where it came from,
I am who I am and apologize to none
