A recollection of a chain of events that have changed my life for the better.
I can say with certainty to anyone that actually decides to read this story that you will be able to relate to it in some way. As is the theme for most of my stories, this tale deals with love in some form or another. I sit here at my computer desk a mere 18 years old, and though much of this story took place over the course of several years and for the most part it takes place in the past... I will say that I regret a lot of it. I wish things had played out differently. Though I am content with my life as it is now, I can't help but wonder if not only my life, but the lives of those involved could have been better had this story turned out differently; but it doesn't matter now. Any "what ifs" are now purely speculation: what has happened has happened and what is is what is, and what shall be is what shall be.

The story begins in the end months of my Grade Eight year of elementary school. The school I attended was named R.L. Hyslop, and that was the school where I spent grade three, and well as grades five through eight. I met some of my best friends there, and I will say that without a doubt it provided me with some of the most fun times of my life.

If I might make a note here for a second, it should be taken into consideration before I progress any further into the story that after my grade seven year I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I'm not saying that as a "woe-is-me" type deal, I just felt I should inform any readers that the condition I have played a major role in this story. I'm not going to delve into any details and whine and cry about Crohn's, if you want any information on it go wiki it or something.

Anyway, I ended up missing a lot of school in grade eight because of hospitalizations and absences due to my illness. I suppose this made my teacher take pity on me because he invited me to go free of charge on the year end trip to Ottawa. It wasn't actually free of charge, a student in my class that had paid in full to go on the trip ended up moving away without taking back their deposit, and since the spot was open and I was free I was offered the last spot, which I gladly accepted.
