i made a super short story about a text message i received. the result? CHEESE! enjoy
She walked lazily across the quiet room, unable to listen to anything else. She found herself a comfortable, thread-bare seat facing the damp window. It was raining. She wondered why the chair was facing the window instead of the room but she was too tired to think. She was too tired to do anything. She may have concluded that it has something to do with the view outside, although there was nothing to see. She sat down.

Her name is Lisa, and Matt was there leaning at the doorway. He sighed and walked towards the TV and turned it on. He unceremoniously put the pictures on the table and sat at the worn-out sofa filled with 5-years of memories.

Lisa was thinking of the same thing. She stared outside and stared at something she called life. She looked at her 20-years worth of life, her corrupted soul and her empty wallet. She just thought she shouldn’t be there.

Matt started to speak.

“You’re so distant. Is something bothering you?”

Lisa didn’t turn and continued to stare at the window. Maybe there was something outside that would answer that question. She sighed.

“Nothing’s bothering me.”

Matt wasn’t even a tad bit convinced.

“You know I forgive you right?” Matt said.

“I know that, I also know that one day we’ll just give up on each other.” She bluntly said.

“What are you saying? Do you mean this relationship won’t work out?” He stood up and turned to look at her.

“Look at me!” He demanded.

Lisa was known for her stubbornness and wasn’t about to fail at that.

“Don’t shout, Matt. I’m not implying anything. I’m just saying that I don’t want to cling onto you so hard; that nothing is permanent and we should be ready when it’s time to leave and move on, that’s all.” She knew she didn’t convince herself.

“Then maybe we should just end everything now? How do you like that huh?” Matt just raised his voice.

“What are you saying, Matt?” she looked at her nails, indicating she was irritated.

“I’m saying that maybe we should just end everything here! NOW!” he now stood behind her wanting nothing more than Lisa to look at him.

Lisa closed her eyes. IDIOT!!

She turned to look at him.

“Because it’s not yet the end, Matt. Not yet.” She calmly said.

She smiled and looked back at the window. The rain just stopped and the clouds just parted to reveal the sun.
