Just something I wrote
He saw the horror in their eyes
         When tornadoes would draw near
And when earthquakes hit and floods rush by
He saw them tremble with fear.

As diseases ravaged the ones they loved
And children were put in their grave
He wished their tears he could wipe away
Their broken hearts he could save.

Angry men did awful things
And turned the blue skies gray
When innocent people were put in harm
A heavy heart did he weigh.

He questioned why these things did happen
         What purpose did hey fulfill
The only answer he received was
         This was the master’s will.

There were stories of this master plan
         A purpose for everyone
And he loved the world so very much
         He sacrificed his son.

He wondered how, with so much love,
He could allow so much pain.
As he wondered how death could be in the plan
He felt his own faith drain.

The tears flowed freely from his eyes
As more lives began to fade
And slowly off he pulled his wings
         Tired of the masquerade.

A fallen angel wiped his tears
As down the last wing fell
And still today he wanders by
         Somewhere between Heaven and Hell.
