Lying in an open field at night…Staring with wonder at the stars
Are they the same ones you see o’re these vast distances that separate us?
I think not, how can they be the same if we are apart?
I think so, for what is space or direction but a line drawn across the imagination
Can not a river flow uphill in a dream?
Can not a sparrow devour a tiger as a shadow takes down a sun beam?

Lying in a closed container by day….Peering into darkness
Is there anything to fear?
I think not, how to fear what is not there?
I think so, For fear springs from what is not there
Can not a hero run and hide?
Can not a lost blind man be your guide?

Lying at the edge of a broken sea…Feeling the unrelenting power of the waves
Do these waves erode the same shores that bind us?
I think not, for how can sands rebuild a new and unique shore to stand upon?
I think so, as once broken, a shell can not be reassembled as one
Can not the grains of sand be sifted?
Can not the heel of pain be lifted?

Lying in the desert heat….Staring at the sun
Can the heat comfort one so filled with rage?
I think not, where to put such a cauldron of emotion?
I think so, as cooled by the wind, the soul finds solace
Can not the queen be mated?
Can not peace be created?
