Remember Jesus's sacrifice
His eyes speak volumes. They tell a story of anguish and suffering and love that defeats all evil. They tell a story of triumph and hope and grace and what happens at the end of the line. They say that what he’s going through is torture and hell and pain beyond all imagining but he’ll bear it for you. Because he loves you and never wants you to have to suffer this way. Because he never wants you to feel alone and abandoned by all. Because he wants to give you hope. Reach out and take his hands. He spread them wide for all the world at Calvary. Won’t you reach out in response? It’s all he asks. Because he knows who comes out on top. He knows who will triumph. He wants us to be there that victorious day. We all know that three days later he rose from the grave and went back to heaven. Sometimes we allow this to blow straight by us. We can’t forget what he did for us that terrible, wonderful day. We can’t forget that his hands were pierced with sharp, merciless nails. That those same nails punctured the feet that carried the word of hope throughout the world. That a spear plunged into his flesh as water and blood and hope flowed down his side. That a crown of agonizing razor-sharp thorns was forced onto his head, tearing at his skin and hair, sending drops of blood down his loving face. We must never forget this. We can never forget this. For the day not one person remembers what Jesus did for us that day at Calvary will be the darkest day for humanity. We must remember. And we must live in his footsteps. After all, he came singing love. He lived singing love. He died singing love. He rose in silence. If the song is to continue, we must be the singers.
