my poem of the possible thoughts and feelings in the last days of a long life.
When all your friends have left for dead,
No one around to hear what you’ve said,
You pace around inside your head…

Asking yourself; where has the time gone.

Your world has changed in such a way.
You can’t keep up so behind you stay,
And tomorrow becomes your yesterday…

This is where all of the time has gone.

People now just don’t seem the same.
No one cares to even ask your name,
Left only with loved ones inside a frame…

And this is where all of the time has gone.

Your body hurts with aches and pains.
Your skin is loose as its turning gray.
Just patiently waiting for your final day…

But not until all of your time has gone.

Dying ain’t something someone can fake.
Each breath gets harder and harder to take.
The abuse you’ve done you just can’t shake…

Here is where all of the time has gone.

Sound goes faint as your sight goes dark,
Then comfort sets in from that distant spark.
As you leave this world you leave your mark…

This is when your time has come and gone.

“joining the ones that have been waiting for you so long”…..
