I sit alone in this dark corner. Hoping. Wishing for light to shine through...
The One You Left Behind

I sit alone in this dark corner.
Hoping. Wishing for light to shine through.
But no one will come,
Because I’m just too strange for their comfort.
Not even I know exactly what I am.
I walk with a smile but is it true?
Or is it just another mask I wear to make them happy?
I guess it doesn’t matter…
Either way I’m never noticed.
But maybe this is my choice.
The quiet has always calmed me…
However,
When around such people filled with energy I’m overjoyed
But smiles still feel so artificial.
So will that light ever shine through my darkness?
Or should I be content in wasting away?
Wasting away in place so cold and blinding?
No!
I will not let this be!
Darkness can engulf me but I!
I will make my own light if I must!
No monster or force can keep me down!
And maybe,
Just maybe,
When I’m strong enough to stand on my own
And shine a light of my very own with no help
I could perhaps find someone in darkness
Someone who was just as scared and lost as me
And I will not ignore them like many did to me.
No quite the opposite.
I will stretch out my hand and grab them
Pulling their helpless body away from darkness’ torture
They will be free
All because I care…I care for ones who were once lost…
Like me.
