the begining to a story im tryign to write, first draft, NOT WRITEN TO OFFEND |
This is nto writen to offend or chalage christianity at all, i apologize if anyone is offended In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. She chuckled quietly to herself, darkness was mentioned as if on the same level of God, light was not mentioned; he wasn’t there yet unless light was supposed to be God but that theory was going to be struck down soon enough, not that she needed proof against it. And God said, “let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning the first day. She sighed and closed the old book that was as far as she cared to go, the misconceptions so far already bothered her and she didn’t want to see the countless more that undoubtedly followed. “God separated the light from the darkness” she sneered to herself, they had been separate for a long time before the idea about a rock call earth had even been conceived. But she knew what the text meant, the separation of light and dark was merely just the creation of time, something needed to even things out between the two, a sense of fairness you could say, and the humble lighting change the book told about weren’t the light and darkness she was referring too, but the effects of them. But there was good in the passage, what she did like was that God had supposedly created light when darkness had been there already and had not been created by anyone or anything, though she knew that this was not true; darkness and light had created each other in their own forming one was as equally responsible for the other as its self, but she couldn’t help but smile at the thought that the ones who fallowed this book had said darkness was separated from God, that they had nothing to do with each other, which was true for as far as she knew there was no God and if there was, they certainly hadn’t done anything for a very long time…. She looked at the window above her the stain glass made it impossible to see out it and because there was no light to shine through it, it was just some glass; she couldn’t tell what the design was supposed to be but she didn’t care so there was no loss. Tired of the window, she looked around there weren’t many people here, a homeless person whom she could not tell the gender of acting as if they were looking at the books but really looking for a place to sleep where they would not be seen, and a young man just a few tables down holding the same version of the holy book she was, but she saw the corners of another not so good book sticking out from behind his cover-up. She wondered what she looked like to these people, if they even spared a moment to look at her. Would they see a young girl reading a good book, or could they see though her like she could them? They couldn’t and she knew, they probably didn’t even know she was there. Bored, she looked back down to the book, sighing for the second, time she opened it again. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. The saying “If God was a woman, semen would taste like chocolate” came to her mind and she laughed silently at this. The book had said God was a he, understandable considering men had written the words but still how would they know if God had a gender at all. But that was not what was irritating about the passage, God had not created man, at least not directly, and she was hurt that they would give credit for something of that importance just to anyone, but she though about it only for a little while, it didn’t matter what man thought of God or anything else for that matter, after all the race was only another skirmish. She was wrong though, man was not “just another” but was “The Last and Final”. As she stepped outside into the night, walking away from the bright lights, she went back to that first sentence ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” she smiled “Yin and Yang” she said out loud, it was the only proof that God might yet exist. |
