I wanted to go outside today, but the rain has washed my plans away. There is no sun, only rain in the sky. I'm so bored, I think I could cry. My mother asked, why so glum? I told her of my plans for fun. She said don't worry, I have a book. I just gave her one of my looks. I wanted to scream, I wanted to shout. Give it a chance, she said patiently. Just take a look and you will see. There are plenty of adventures you can do today. Just pick up a book and turn the page. And so I did as I was told. I was suprised at what was to unfold. No longer was I in my house, but chasing down a giant mouse. Then I was running from a pirate band, with golden treasure in my hands. Just as I was to board my ship my mother gave me a little tip, The rain had stopped and outside I could go. Looking from the book , I simply said no. I have to finish the story, you see, or it could be the end of me. I wouldn't be able to play, always wondering if I got away. If it is adventure You seek, all you have to do is take a peek. So have fun and take a look, between the covers of a book. "Reading and writting is the greatest adventure of all!" |
