A deranged serial killer is on the loose, and its up to Detective Bray to stop him.
~Heaven or Hell~

Chapter One: Of Death

I watched her writhe with pain as I ripped open her stomach, blood and gore saturating my hands and clothing. She could not scream, only look at me and hope that her eyes would convince me to stop. I smiled as I thought about the past; all the times that I had watched and wanted her, and now she was all mine. I drifted on remembering every inch of her stunning body, laughing silently inside as I recalled the look on her face as I tortured and killed her ‘precious' children. Their bodies, or what was left of them, lay in a pool of blood beside me, their mangled hands placed in crosses over their chests, holding onto what was once their faces. It was a shame their mother had to die the same way.

I reached behind me to reveal a large, decorated dagger; it was my favourite and only used for special occasions. Slowly I ran the dagger over her body, covering it with her sweet smelling blood and then running my tongue over the blade. I couldn't resist.

There was only one thing left to do. I smiled as I plunged the dagger into her lungs and heart, drawing it in and out of the wound, until finally she breathed her last breath of life. Slowly I bent over to kiss her cold lifeless forehead, before cutting off her face and placing her mangled arms in a cross over her chest.

She had lost everything, even her face.... she was now a nobody.

Blood covered the ground where three bodies lay rotting in their own gore; their mangled hands lay in a cross over their maggot-infested bodies, holding onto what were once their faces. I stood there, just staring at what looked like a woman and two children; what kind of sick bastard could have done this?

"Sally Bray?"

I looked up to see Senior Detective Bennet, head of the State Homicide Division staring at me.

"That's me," I managed to force a smile.

"I thought you might like to see this."

Senior Detective Bennet frowned as he handed me a small crumpled piece of paper. I studied it carefully, blood stained the corners of the letter, and it had turned a sickly yellow from sitting in the rotting body fluids. I almost threw up with the smell of it.

Slowly I unraveled it, careful not to rip or tear the vital evidence to reveal a neatly hand-written message......a message that would chill one's very bones.

Everyone has a choice in life, a choice given by God....this is a choice between Heaven or Hell....this choice decides whether your soul will float in the Heavens or rot in the fiery cauldrons of Hell.

These people took advantage of their choice, and now, as a result of their evilness they have been silenced. Forever wondering the depths of Hell....for all eternity....

Yours sincerely
Death

"So, you're telling me that this is the only evidence we have!"

"Apart from the bodies themselves, yes." Bennet cringed. "This is the worst case we've had for three years, Bray; he has the makings of a serial killer. So let's find this guy and send him to the fiery cauldrons of prison, before we use up all our body bags"

"But before that, let's get these bodies down to forensics; we need identification before we can even get started on the killer." I smiled

My Favorite part.....
